Angela Bymaster

Dr. Bymaster is a a board-certified family medicine physician and a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians.

Dr. Angela Bymaster graduated from the University of Iowa, Carver College of Medicine and completed her family medicine residency at O’Connor Hospital. Dr. Bymaster is a board-certified family medicine physician and a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians.

Angela, her husband Brett, and their four kids have been residents of the Washington community in Downtown San Jose since 2006. Angela and her husband attend Cathedral of Faith Church in San Jose.

Expertise and strengths include:

  • addiction medicine
  • pediatrics and adolescent medicine
  • family medicine from newborn to elder care
  • foster children, children with neurodiversity including ADHD, autism, learning disabilities, mental health conditions, and reactive attachment disorder

Cheryl Ho

Dr. Ho is a board-certified physician in internal medicine and addiction medicine.

Dr. Cheryl Ho, a board-certified physician in internal medicine and addiction medicine, graduated from Stanford University with a BS in biological sciences. She then went on to the University of California - San Diego School of Medicine for her medical training. She completed her residency and chief residency in internal medicine at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center. Dr. Ho was the recipient of the 2017 National Underserved Clinician of the Year award, and serves as a consultant for both local and national policy initiatives. Dr. Cheryl is currently a Stanford University clinical assistant professor of medicine.

Dr. Cheryl’s husband, Douglas, is a pastor at San Jose Christian Alliance Church. Together they are leaders in their new Mountain View church plant, New Vine Community Church.

Dr. Thomas Stafford

Dr. Stafford is board-certified in both internal medicine and pediatrics and has a fellowship in faith and medicine.

Dr. Thomas Stafford spent his undergraduate years at Middlebury College, where he studied biochemistry and Spanish.

Later, he completed medical school at Tufts University, along with an additional year-long fellowship in faith and medicine. Dr. Stafford did his residency training in internal medicine and pediatrics with the University of Southern California at LA County and USC Medical Center.

Throughout his medical training, Dr. Stafford has spent considerable time abroad, researching healthcare for the urban poor in South India and Nicaragua, and teaching public health and medicine in the Middle East.

Over his career, Guy Adams has provided strategic leadership and counsel to educational, healthcare, and a variety of nonprofit and for-profit organizations that seek to contribute positively to the communities they serve. Guy has over 30 years of experience as a senior leader and consultant in a variety of settings where he has helped build leadership and financial capacity. He also served as the Senior Vice President for Marketing, Communications, and Professional Development in a $850M healthcare company with operations in 22 states. He is a first-generation college graduate who believes in the transformative value of education.

Guy earned a BA in Religion from Warner Pacific College and an MA in Social Science from Azusa Pacific University. He has served in volunteer/board roles that include the Roberts Wesleyan University, The Genysys Group, Eskaton Foundation, National Council on Child Abuse and Family Violence, American Heart Association, World Servants, Trauma Intervention Program.

Guy and his wife Shelly of 34 years, have two grown daughters—Brooke and Claire.

In memory of Maria Marcelo

Community Engagement Director

Healing Grove co-founder Maria Marcelo was killed leading a prayer walk on Dec 7th, 2022. Maria was the president and founder of Madre-A-Madre. Madre-A-Madre is a Latina empowerment program Maria founded 19 years ago along with then-principal of Washington Elementary, Maria Evans. Madre-A-Madre currently meets every Thursday under Marias daughter’s leadership. Maria was a beloved leader, activist, organizer, parent of three grown kids, and amazing chef.

Maria Hernandez

Maria grew up in the Washington/Guadalupe community, often joining her mother, Maria Marcelo, in community development and activism. Maria attends Our Lady of Guadalupe parish in San Jose.

At Healing Grove, Maria leads our community outreach efforts and leads the Youth Group.

Paola Gonzalez

Director Of Clinical Operations

Paola graduated from UC Riverside where she studied biology. Paola is fluently bilingual in Spanish and English. Paola is a member and leader at Venture En Español Church.

As Director of Operations, she oversees Healing Grove’s clinical operations.

Dania Meza

Clinic Pastora

Pastora Dania Meza with her husband Pastor Carlos Alejandro are the founding pastors of Venture En Español Church. She is the pastora on site leading prayer and discipleship, “No Estás Sola” women’s group, and “Transciende” special topic groups. She enjoys welcoming clinic visitors offering prayer and friendship. She is blessed with two daughters and one son.

Noe Guzman

Sports Director

Noe Guzman was born and raised in Colima, Mexico where he learned to engage with people via sports, the epicenter of his life. Sports has taught him a lot of life lessons and has built a great character to face challenges. In 2004, he came to the US to study and learn English. He joined Willow Glen High School and played soccer for two years achieving the All Team rewards & senior of the year. He also played one season at De Anza in 2006-2007. He has coached at the YMCA of Silicon Valley and the MACSA community agency where he learned to recognize the impact of positive influence among kids. Community outreach is his passion!

Noe is married to an amazing woman Gerania and has 4 kids (ages 14 to 3). His family is his core reason to work and contribute to his community.

Ariana Pineda

Clinical Administrator

Ariana is a recent graduate from UC Merced, where she obtained a B.A in Public Health. Growing up with two immigrant parents in a low-income community, she has witnessed and experienced inequalities that affected her community. Her upbringing has been a motivating factor in pursuing a degree in Public Health. She believes it is an instrument in which she can create change. She aspires to focus on obtaining skills to effectively address health disparities, improve health access for all immigrants, and work towards health equity.

At Healing Grove, Ariana is the first person visitors and patients are warmly greeted with at the Clinic Welcome Room. She helps patients navigate and maintain relationships with the clinical staff, administers doctors’ schedules and clinical operations.

Briseida Perez

Public Health Specialist + Patient Navigator

Briseida has lived in the Washington-Guadalupe neighborhood for over 18 years. Recently, Briseida received her degree in Public Health from the University of California, Merced. As such, Briseida is devoted to lowering diabetes rates in the local community by managing culturally competent health programs and engaging community members.

Along with her primary role as a Public Health Specialist, Briseida ensures patients are connected with speciality services outside Healing Grove Health Center.

Daniel Reginato

Pastoral Counselor

Daniel Reginato is Argentinian born, bilingual and bicultural. He obtained a B.A. in Psychology from the University of California, at Santa Cruz and a Masters in Social Work from the University of New York, at Albany. He has a broad life and clinical experience and education with children, adolescents, adults, couples and seniors.

Daniel has been happily married for 26 years to his wife, Dana and has two adult children in college. His passion is to love and worship God “in spirit and in truth.” His goal is to love and respect all people unconditionally, work toward the removal of systemic poverty and empower people to experience the “abundant life” Jesus promised those who seek him.

At Healing Grove, he offers a holistic approach to heath care through a multicultural perspective to find creative solutions, cultural sensitivity to our Hispanic immigrant families, traditional mental health services, and soul care through a biblical approach and intercessory prayer.

Daniel grew up in North Carolina and came out West after graduating college when he felt called by God to be a missionary in business. Daniel worked and witnessed in tech and now is a full time dad to two daughters, leads a house church with his wife, and wants to journey alongside others in the Bay to better know God.

Cliff Chew

Cliff Chew grew up in Sunnyvale, California when the city was best known for its fruit orchards.  Upon graduation from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo with a BS in Computer Science, Cliff began a 30-year career at Hewlett Packard in various customer support and program management positions.  During this time, he also earned an MBA from Santa Clara University.

Cliff currently serves on the Elder Board of San Jose Christian Alliance Church, chairs multiple committees, and is a teacher and principal of SJCAC’s Discipleship Academy.  Cliff’s desire is for all to know and experience Jesus’s love and restoration.

Michael Erkelens

Advertising & Marketing

Born in Guatemala, Michael Erkelens moved to California in 1996 and graduated from Santa Clara University’s Leavey School of Business. He is the founder of a marketing agency in the Bay Area, and his extensive network has allowed him to spearhead ministry and marketing efforts all over the world. Michael offers a unique perspective in bridging the cultural gap between top business practices and diverse audiences. Fluent in Spanish and English, he grasps the nuances of both Latino and American cultures and often serves as a liaison for local businesses and their Spanish-speaking clientele. Michael sees his role with Healing Grove as a way to help ensure all people receive the opportunities they need to thrive in our modern society.

Luz Camey

Spanish Speaking Community Rep & Education

Luz is a certificated bilingual elementary school teacher in the San Jose Unified School District. Luz received the 2016 San Jose Unified and Santa Clara County teacher of the year award.
